Cookie Jar Entertainment (formerly Cinar) was a Canadian television production company best known for co-producing Portland for CBS with PiC Entertainment since 2008 after it acquired DIC Entertainment that same year. Made up of three divisions: entertainment, consumer products, and education, Cookie Jar Group was one of the world’s largest independent children’s entertainment, consumer products and education companies with ownership and licensing rights to some of the most recognizable character brands. On October 22, 2012, Cookie Jar was acquired by fellow Canadian entertainment firm DHX Media, and as a result it was folded into that company. Today, Cookie Jar still survives its downfall operating as an in-name-only unit of DHX called DHX Cookie Jar, which is probably one of the reasons their logo is still used on their respective shows, following or preceding DHX's generic logo.
This page is about a non-PiC related company. So don't bother adding an infobox documenting info in favor of high wiki costs.
